Monsters of Rock Cruise Set to Return in 2022
It’s always cool to see a band from a different perspective; through a camera lens, sidestage, back behind the amps, etc. For this particular show, I was stationed behind two Marshall half-stacks next to the guitar boat – ready for anything. Oceans of Slumber are back in a heavier and darker direction on their latest single, "Where Gods Fear to Speak." The accompanying video, directed by Josh Vargas, captures the essence of the song's overall thought-provoking theme. The lineup for Monsters of Rock Cruise 2024 will also feature Queensryche, Quiet Riot, TNT, Vixen, H.E.A.T, and Kaleido, with the cruise host Eddie Trunk. The final show I attended on day 1 was a favorite of mine and many other cruisers, Spread Eagle on the Pool Stage, kicking off around 11 PM. With the band being from my area around NYC, it feels like I’m seeing my hometown band succeed on the big stage and it is a beautiful thing to see their hard work pay off. The line for this show stretched up the stairwell from deck 3, where the venue lies, all the way up to deck 12. I stood toward the middle of the Theater, singing the tunes at the top of my lungs, surrounded by friends. The whole crowd shared a laugh as vocalist Gary Cherone took a tumble on the side of the stage – a common occurrence for the hyper performer.

These guys have gotten to be so tight and together, it’s impressive, especially with each member being from a different region of the country. After talking to people throughout the week and online after Monsters Of Rock Cruise, it seems this set was a fan favorite for many, an exciting feat for Spread Eagle, as it is their first time being part of this event.
Quiet Riot Setlist:
The cruise is set to depart from Miami on March 2nd and will sail to ports of call in Jamaica and the Bahamas before returning to Miami on March 7th. Radio host Eddie Trunk will once again serve as host and MC for what will be the 12th edition of the MORC. The sailing will also feature Eddie Trunk and comedians Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine and others as they host Q&A's, Gong Show Karaoke, cooking classes and more activities specifically designed to bring the party up a notch. In 1988, Satriani was recruited by Mick Jagger as lead guitarist for his first solo tour. Satriani briefly toured with Deep Purple, joining shortly after the departure of Ritchie Blackmore in November 1993.
